OREGON TRAVEL AND VACATION DREAMS

What is your dream vacation?  Is it a long walk on a sandy beach while watching the sun set over the Pacific?  Is it a hike through ancient forests? Would you like to golf in the high desert while enjoying spectacular views of mountains, or fish wild rivers famous for salmon and steelhead?  Maybe your dream vacation includes visits to award-winning wineries set amidst scenic rolling hills covered with grape vines.  Perhaps you would prefer a more cosmopolitan vacation experience in a city dubbed Money Magazine’s No. 1 Choice of “The Best Places To Live” (Money Magazine, December 2000): fine dining, museums, art galleries, shops, and theater in a vibrant and picturesque city.

All of these possibilities and many more are within a short drive of Portland.  If you are coming to PICMET, we highly recommend that you take a few extra days from your busy schedule before or after the conference to visit some of the most spectacular scenery in the world.

Below you will find a link to Oregon’s vast array of holiday treasures.  If you see something that appeals to you, Joan Sher of GK Ltd. Travel, PICMET’s official travel agent for the conference, will help you plan any aspect of your trip, including discounted airline reservations, car rentals, pre- and post-conference trips, and tours while in Portland.

The list of things to see and do in the Oregon is endless.  However, if you would like to venture a little further, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Reno, Seattle, Vancouver, and Victoria, B.C. are all easily accessible from Portland. Joan will arrange special and personalized trips for you upon request.
